National Youth Day-12-01-2023

 On 12 January, on the 160 birthday of Swami Vivekananda, as a mark of respect to Swami Ji, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit, Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of A.D.B.First Grade College, Harapanahalli celebrated National Youth Day with the primary aim of sensitizing the students about the philosophies, principles and ideas of Swami Vivekanada.

                                     The program started with the invocation song by Kum. P. BrambhikaB.Sc-V sem Dr.A.M.Rajashekharaiah gave a brief introduction about the program. The programme was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. S. M. Siddalinga Murthy, Principal, by garlanding the photo of SWAMI VIVEKANANDJI, N.S.S. Program officers, teaching , Non-teaching and students were also present. During the event students of various courses delivered the speech. The inspiring stories of Swami Vivekananda’s life briefed to the students by Kum.Renuka Prasad of B.A. IIyear made the session more interesting.

Miss. Sushma C , Lecturer in Botany of our college   was invited as the guest speaker to speak on Success in Life’. Beginning her talk with a prayer she discussed with students the meaning of real success which is attained only when we do something meaningful in our lives and derive pleasure from our deeds and not just money.

In this context she gave several examples . Her talk was very interesting filled with interesting stories from mythological books and teachings of Hindu scriptures.

Dr.Suvarna Arundi Nagaraj , Lecturer in Education of our college, also spoke on the vision of Swami Vivekananda and how the students the present youth of the country contribute towards nation building. She also spoke on the present status of education system and stressed that only focused The students were enlightened about the relevance of his principles in the present world.

Her lecture inspired the youth to lead a very happy and productive life, wherein we should be the donors of love.

The Principal of the institute, Prof. Dr. S.M. Siddalinga Murthy spoke about the importance of following the principles of Swami Vivekananda to achieve a success in life

The programme was well received by all the faculty and the 150 students of NSS attended.
