Department of Kannada

About the Department:

       Exact expression, accurate, reasoning and intellectual elevation is only possible through the mother language which is an instrument to attain perfection in all the above aspects. With this motive the Department of Kannada was started in the year 1972. Sri.P.Y.Reddy was the head of department succeeded by Sri.S.S.Hiremath. Later on, the responsibility of the department was shouldered by Dr.K.Rudrappa.

      Presently Dr.D.Thippeswamy is the Head of Department carrying out the work with the support of Dr. Rajashekharaiah. A. M & Smt. Swarna M. C.  The department undertakes all co-curricular activities under the aegis of “KANNADA SANGHA” in the College. The Sangha conducts essay writing, elocution, quiz, singing and other literary activities at regular intervals. Department is  regularly organising study tour for the final year students for their academic purpose.
